The course examines and analyses the basic principles and rules of Cypriot real property law : the concept of real property rights and of personal rights, the concept and the protection of ownership and other real property rights in the national, European and international law,  the historical evolution of the protection and registration of immovable property in the law of Cyprus,  the legal regime of adverse possession, the law of easements, mortgages and restrictive covenants, trusts, the role and the powers of the Department of Lands and  Surveys (Land Registry) and the appeals against its decisions, the transfer of property and mortgages, state land, the regime of tutelage of the property of Turkish Cypriots,  property torts.
